Why do I do this?  I put it down 2\/3 of the way through.  It took me two evenings and an afternoon nap (Carrie&#8217;s, not mine) to finish that last third.  I left the needle in it, though, because I&#8217;m knitting a matching hat and if there&#8217;s yarn left from that I&#8217;d like the scarf to be a little bit longer.<br \/>\n<center><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sc_scarf_hat.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/sarahsthreads.com\/journal\/images\/crafts\/2006\/sc_scarf_hat.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"582\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nIn case anyone is wondering, the pattern for the scarf is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sheepinthecity.prettyposies.com\/archives\/000079.html\">here<\/a>.  (The pattern for the hat <i>was<\/i> <a href=\"http:\/\/creazativity.typepad.com\/photos\/free_patterns\/film_grain_shot2.html\">here<\/a>, but apparently it&#8217;s been published in a knitting magazine and is no longer available free online.)  I&#8217;m 2\/3 of the way to the hat decreases.  (Uh-oh, there&#8217;s that magic 2\/3 number&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I&#8217;m determined to finish these this year.  Last year I didn&#8217;t have a scarf that matched my coat, so I didn&#8217;t wear one at all.  Brrrrrrr.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember when I started this scarf?
