We’re back in the summer routine, and doing weekly themes like last year<\/a>. This week’s theme is “Hello, Summer Sunshine!” and we’ll be doing all sorts of fun, sun-themed projects.<\/p>\n

This morning we headed outside to make some Chalk People:<\/p>\n

First, we traced each other's shadows with chalk...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
...then we colored ourselves in...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
Yes, the yellow shirt is now covered in chalk.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Anna thought it was hilarious that she was about the same size as my<\/em> chalk shadow.<\/p>\n

But wait, there’s more! We made some sunshine decorations!<\/p>\n

Paper plate, clothespins, paint, brushes & googly eyes.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

First paint half a paper plate yellow.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>
Such a pretty yellow!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
There are a lot of crevices in these plates!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Then paint some clothespins yellow.<\/p>\n

This is messy. Unless you get your mom to hold it for you.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

When they’re dry, stick on some googly eyes…<\/p>\n

Is there anything googly eyes can't make cuter?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

…draw a mouth…<\/p>\n

Nothin' fancy, just a sharpie.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

…and add the clothespin rays!<\/p>\n
